Thanks to all the Go!Kids who participated in the 2012 Valero Go!Kids Challenge. The program ended Sunday with an incredible field day at the Alamodome. Thousands of Go!Kids and their families enjoyed activities on the football field, got autographs from local celebrities, and collected goodies from our sponsors.
Just because the Valero Go!Kids Challenge has ended, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t run, walk, jump or play at least 60 minutes a day. Keep it up throughout the summer! Be a part of San Antonio Sports Fit Family Challenge, a FREE four-month county-wide family fitness program. Registration, participation and ALL Fit Family Challenge events are free. From Rishan:
is dancing a sport?
Hi Rishan! Dancing is definately exercise. I think it’s lots of fun. Dancing is an easy way to move and get your heartrate up. Another good thing about dancing is you can do it indoors, so if the weather is too hot or too cold, it doesn’t matter.
From Joseph:
will playing basketball help you exercise?
Basketball is a great way to be physically active. Especially if you’re running up and down the court.
From Becca:
hey does going walking in your house count or stretching?
Hi Becca! It depends. Walking is a great way to be active because most people can do it…you don’t need anything more than a pair of tennis shoes. But you have to walk at a good pace, and I’m not sure inside a house is the best place because of space and furniture. Maybe walking around your house? Streching is also a good thing to do, espeically if your muscles are tired after you’ve been active. But it doesn’t get your heartrate up so it’s best to do if along with your physical activity.
